    How To tip iconHow To Tip:

    Hide and show layers.

    You often need to work on a portion of an image in isolation. If you have created the image in layers, you can control what elements are visible by selectively hiding and showing the layers.

    In the Layers palette, do one of the following:

    • Click the eye icon Eye icon next to a layer, layer set, or layer effect to hide its content.
    • Click the empty eye column next to a layer, layer set, or layer effect to display its content.

    Tip iconTo display a single layer or layer set and hide all others, Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac OS) the eye column next to the layer or layer set you want displayed. To redisplay the hidden layers, Alt-click or Option-click again.
