    Customize tool settings and save them as tool presets.

    If you frequently use the same settings for a tool, you can save the settings as a preset, and then access that preset anytime you need it. Presets appear in the Tool Presets palette and in the Tool Presets pop-up palette on the option bar at the top of the work area.

  1. Select the tool you want from the toolbox.
  2. In the options bar at the top of the work area, select the settings you want for the tool.
  3. Click the Tool Preset button Tool Preset button on the left side of the options bar to open the Tool Presets pop-up palette.
  4. On the right side of the pop-up palette, click the Create New Tool Preset button New button.
  5. Name your custom Tool Preset and click OK.
